GMO sets up new fund focused on Facebook related startups /Cnet

GMO Venture Partners, a venture capital arm of GMO Internet, establishes Social Ad&Commerce Technology Fund aiming at investing in Facebook related technology startups.

It invests in companies providing EC or advertising services on social networks including Facebook and others. As the first deal, it invests in Aratana which provides Social Gateway, a tool to develop EC on Facebook Pages.

At the launch the fund size is 57 million yen, which expects to increase up to 2 billion yen.
